When Chobani came out with its first-ever vegan line in January, we knew 2019 was off to a great start. And the year keeps getting better with a launch that, even if not dairy-free, is still pretty darn exciting: Chobani Greek Yogurt with Nut Butters. You read right! The brand has paired protein-dense Greek yogurt with almond butter, cashew butter, and hazelnut butter.
Starting in July, five flavors will be available in top grocery stores nationwide: Vanilla Greek Yogurt with Almond Butter, Plain Greek Yogurt with Almond Butter, Honey Greek Yogurt with Almond Butter, Chocolate Greek Yogurt with Hazelnut Butter, and Vanilla Greek Yogurt with Cashew Butter. For $2 per cup, you can find them in stores including Target, Publix, Kroger, Albertsons, and Safeway. You can also find them online through many of the same retailers such as target.com, a Chobani spokesperson confirmed.
Nut butter rests at the bottom of these cups, so you have to mix it together with the yogurt before eating (I've included an example of what one flavor looks like after mixing). Because of the added nut butter, the consistency is thinner than regular Chobani Greek yogurt. There's 11 to 12 grams of protein per cup, which is similar to the protein in Chobani Fruit on the Bottom sitting in my fridge right now (the sugar, in comparison, is lower in these nut butter yogurts than Fruit on the Bottom, but the calories are higher). Ahead, check out the nutritional info for each nut butter flavor as well as how they taste - I liked the ones with almond butter the best, but I'll let you decide what you want to try first.
