On screen, Black Panther star Danai Gurira is the general of the Dora Milaje, the fierce, special forces female warriors of Wakanda. Danai's on-camera strength comes from her real-life regimented workout routine, and you're going to want to take notes for this holiday season.
"For me, personally, I work out to relieve stress, focus, and stay in shape. It's something that I have to do several times a week," the Reebok brand partner said. With a busy schedule, it's can be hard to fit in a workout, but Danai said she has to make herself a priority.
If you feel like you're the only one who struggles with sticking to a routine during the holidays, you're not alone. Danai explained that it can be hard to stay focused on her routines, but she reminds herself that "It's about overall well-being." If she has a trip, Danai said she'll travel with equipment. Fun fact: when she was training for Black Panther, she brought her wooden spear to Mexico and trained on the beach. You may not be training for an action film, but you can still pack small equipment like a TRX and resistance bands for your workouts.
To keep your workouts from feeling like a chore, Danai said, "Figure out how to prioritize it and make it fun by maybe involving a family member or a friend."
