When it comes to alternative medicine the Chinese are world-renowned for their interesting and sometimes controversial methods of helping the sick.
However one Chinaman from Beijing, Hongchi Xiao, claims that his special slapping therapy can help cure even the worst ailments, and his treatments have also been carried out on children as young as seven.
The slapping therapist’s official website is full of pictures of patients, covered in bruised, who Xiao claims have benefited greatly from his methods.
The name of the particular therapy in Chinese is, paida lajin, a therapy which involves slapping and stretching the body to drive out toxins.
As Xiao told reporters last month, ‘The slapping and stretching work together to clear the meridians of blocks and help the body get rid of disease,” adding, ‘Tumor problems where are they from? It’s from nowhere but your heart or from your mind.”
When it comes to breast cancer, Xiao claims that it is something which mainly affects women who are in miserable marriages.
As he also said to reporters, “I ask those ladies, because it’s a ladies problem, you’ve got a tumour, cancer in your womb and then the question is… do you think they have married a man that they really love? If they are dearly loved and if the answer is yes then you will never have this kind of problems… the tumour in the womb or the breast, you would never have that normally.”
For that matter, Xiao also claims that western medicine is “pollution” and a form of “poison,” “It’s called concentrated pollution, targeted pollution… Its poison, we poison ourselves by paying money,” he said.
Nevertheless, Xiao recently fled Australia where he was living and working, after a young boy whom he treated died and police opened an investigation into his death which included Xiao.
It remains to be seen whether or not cops will actually catch up with the self-styled practitioner, who claims on his website that he is holding slapping therapy seminars in Germany later this month.
