‘Fat Water’ For Weight Loss: Is Fat-Infused Water The 2015 Secret To Drop Pounds?

There’s something new on the horizon that might help with weight loss, and ironically, it’s something called fat water. As reported by Shape, those who’ve heard of bulletproof coffee will be familiar with FATwater’s founder, Dave Asprey. While the bulletproof coffee found folks adding dollops of real butter and coconut oil to their java, FATwater already contains a couple of grams — approximately 20 calorie — of Asprey’s coconut oil.

According to the FATwater ingredients, the fat water includes “Bulletproof XCT Oil” — the primary fat source being coconut. Next up is purified water and flavorings. Those flavors still make the FATwater sugar free and are derived from real fruit extracts. FATwater uses non-GMO xylitol, which is a sugar alcohol, which some folks believe shouldn’t be consumed in great quantities, reports the Huffington Post. Stevia is another sweetener that’s used in the “fat water” product.

Is this better than coconut water? FATwater is a different type of hydration using the most valuable Medium Chain Triglycerides (MCTs) found in coconut oil.

The benefits listed on the FATwater website claim that fat-infused water can “quickly” metabolize energy from quality fats, along with the fact that the sugar-free fat-infused water contains less than 30 calories. Those who’ve heard of fruit-infused water being all the rage might not be surprised that fat-infused water could represent the next big trend.

According to the New York Daily News, FATwater is currently being sold at the Bulletproof Coffee Shop in Santa Monica, California. Folks who want FATwater can also find it at a local Los Angeles natural foods store, but if they look online to buy the so-dubbed FATwater, they’ll find it’s out of stock as of this writing.

Touted as a fat water drink that will increase energy and help folks drop weight, FATwater is also called a pretty water by its creator.

“The water looks kind of iridescent, pearlescent. It has these tiny, invisible droplets of fat that your body really, really likes. Drink a glass of water, and some of it will absorb and some of it won’t. But when your body sees that fat, it says, ‘Oh, come on in, this is pure energy.’ It brings the water in with the fat and you get a little bump of energy.”

As for whether FATwater will actually help those who drink it burn fat remains to be seen. Planned for a national release, FATwater should soon be everywhere.
