A vaccine for the novel coronavirus, the pathogen behind the ongoing worldwide COVID-19 pandemic, is unlikely to be developed and deployed by the end of October, Surgeon General Jerome Adams said Friday. That contradicts suggestions from the Trump administration that the potentially life-saving preventative treatment could be ready before Election Day.
