A study published in the Journal of the American Heart Association on Monday found that women who suffered from a lack of good quality sleep had a higher tendency to consume sugar and unhealthy fats, reported CNN.
The study followed nearly 500 women between the ages of 20 and 76 who participated in the AHA Go Red for Women program, a year-long study that examined sleep patterns and cardiovascular risk. The participants recorded how much sleep they got, the quality of their sleep, and their food intake. They were asked how much they ate certain types of foods and how big of a portion they ate.
