Serena Williams Sings Powerful Rendition of "I Touch Myself" For Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Serena Williams, queen of the tennis court and our hearts, recently went out of her comfort zone during a project for Breast Cancer Awareness month. The 37-year-old athlete recorded her own rendition of The Divinyls' hit "I Touch Myself," to remind women to self-check regularly. She shared her powerful recording in a video of herself topless, which she shared on Instagram.

"Yes, this put me out of my comfort zone, but I wanted to do it because it's an issue that affects all women of all colors, all around the world. Early detection is key - it saves so many lives," Serena wrote in her video's caption. "I just hope this helps to remind women of that."

Serena's music video is part of the "I Touch Myself Project," supported by Berlei for Breast Cancer Network Australia. The project honors singer Chrissy Amphlett, The Divinyls' frontwoman, who passed away from the disease in 2013. In addition to her recording, Serena also teamed with Berlei to promote their "Chrissy" bras, which include a post-surgery option. We're grateful to Serena for this vulnerable, yet beautiful reminder to check in with ourselves and put our health first.
