I Found a Natural Deodorant That Lasted Through Bootcamp, and It’s on Amazon!

I'm going to start this off by saying I never thought I'd be this passionate about deodorant, but finding the right one is a lot more difficult than it should be. There's a lot of buzz about natural deodorant, and while I don't love the idea of smearing aluminum and other harsh chemicals on my body every day, I also really don't want to smell bad. It has always been a tried-and-true drugstore option for me - until now.

Schmidt's is the millennial-friendly natural deodorant; it seems like everyone has one of its aesthetically pleasing scents on their shelves, and now I get why. I was immediately blown away by the smell of its Jasmine Tea Sensitive Skin Formula ($11), even though I usually hate scented deodorant. I always think it's too artificial, and, honestly, I just want to smell like my favorite perfume. But this natural deodorant reminded me of my favorite jasmine tea - there's nothing fake about it. I was so excited about my new purchase for the scent alone, but I thought it wouldn't hold up against my heavy duty deodorant.

Wow, was I wrong! The day I bought it, I played tennis outside in the stifling Summer heat. Every time I served, I thought, "Wow, I still smell like jasmine tea!" You would think after that test, I'd be sold on the power of this deodorant, but the skeptic in me still wanted to put it through one more obstacle. The next morning, I went to Barry's Bootcamp, and I am proud to report that even after an hour of running and lifting weights, I emerged smelling fresh. If that's not the ultimate seal of approval, I don't know what is.

A few important notes: this scent is actually a sensitive skin formula, which means it contains no baking soda, a common irritant. If you ever have problems with breakouts, you might want to consider switching to something formulated for sensitive skin. This particular deodorant's base is a mixture of coconut oil and shea butter. If you're not a fan of jasmine tea - which is crazy to me but I'll let it slide - this formula comes in four other scents, as well as a fragrance-free version.

I never thought I'd find a natural deodorant I could work out in, but Schmdit's really works, and I'm never looking back.
