Even the biggest health nuts are prone to some bad habits, but it's time to make this year our best one yet! These are all tiny things we tend to do without even noticing that are seriously diminishing our quality of life, but we can take back control by simply acknowledging them and politely asking them to step aside for our pure badass awesomeness! Here are a few examples of no-nos:
- Taking your smartphone everywhere. Even the bathroom.
- Going out or ordering in instead of cooking at home. Your health and budget will hate you for it.
- Postponing check-ups. No one loves a trip to the doctor, but staying in tune with your body is essential.
- Overscheduling yourself. You're only one person!
- Not getting enough sleep on a regular basis.
- Forgetting to make ample time for self-care.
- Not drinking enough water. Staying properly hydrated does wonders for your health and happiness.
- Holding on to things that aren't making you happy. Apply the Marie Kondo method to tidy up your life and the people in it, according to what brings you joy.
- Not incorporating exercise into your lifestyle. It doesn't always have to be a workout at the gym, but staying active is a key factor of wellness.
- Skipping breakfast (and you wonder why you eat a calorie-filled feast for lunch!).
- Longing for real life #wanderlust but settling for the hashtag, not the experience.
- Focusing on pleasing other people instead of looking inward at what's truly right for you.
- Comparing yourself to the lifestyle of perfectly polished Instagram images.
- Avoiding confrontation. Problems don't go away magically unless you confront them head-on.
- Taking care of everyone else before taking care of yourself. Never works.
- Holding on to grudges. There's no better time than now to forgive and move on.
